Hill School students from Junior Kindergarten through Eighth grade celebrated the International Day of Peace on September 21st by installing over 250 paper pinwheels on the lawn of the Clark Courtyard. Children made these from paper, decorating one side with images and patterns, and the back side with words of peace.
Students were asked to reflect upon how we might achieve peace around the world, in our nation, within our region, between groups of people, friends, new acquaintances, and even within ourselves. We know that a pinwheel is just a symbol of our hope for peace, yet we hope that our art will inspire others to realize that young people care about creating a peaceful world and want to remind others to help them do so.
