On Friday, May 11, 2012 The Hill School Alumni Association hosted a spring reception in honor of Emily Sharp, beloved Art teacher and Faculty Emeritus. From 1961-1971 and 1978-1983, Em taught at Hill School inspiring and instilling a love of art. She influenced the lives of countless students, and it was this passion for Hill School and the Middleburg Community that motivated the Alumni Association to dedicate this year’s spring reception in her honor. In celebration of Em and in appreciation of the Middleburg Community, Charles Ellison, President of The Hill School Alumni Association Board announced that the Board will be making a donation toward the refurbishment of The Christmas in Middleburg signs. These signs, designed by Em, are hung in town during the holiday season and are a long-standing community tradition.
